Gujarat International Finance Tec-City, or GIFT City is aggressively attracting global companies. In a recent development, two global players, one is from fintech and one is information technology (IT) major are in a process to start operations here.
According to the sources, Top IT company Cognizant has received all the requisite approvals from authorities to set up its tech-fin centre at GIFT City. The company is aiming to start operations during current calendar year.
A senior officials told that, the authority had granted the company all the required clearances. The approvals were granted early in December. The Cognizant’s facility will give direct employment to about 2,000 people. The IT major had in September announced that it would start its new facility by February 2025. The facility is to serve as a strategic hub for the US-headquartered IT firm to deliver advanced technology solutions for clients in banking, financial services and insurance industries.
Apart from Cognizant, IT consulting and services company Hexaware Technologies is also applied for approvals for its 500-seat tech-fin centre at the GIFT City.
