Gujarat Finance Minister Kanubhai Desai presented the ₹3.70 lakh crore budget for 2025-26, aligning with the vision of a Developed India 2047. The budget prioritizes industries, MSMEs, urban transformation, healthcare, and education to ensure inclusive and sustainable growth.

With a 23.16% increase in capital expenditure, the government aims to enhance infrastructure and implement new developmental initiatives. Special allocations for urban development will modernize cities, while incentives for industries and MSMEs will generate employment and economic expansion. Gujarat has maintained fiscal discipline, ensuring financial stability while investing heavily in social welfare, education, healthcare, and new-age technologies. The budget underscores Gujarat’s commitment to long-term progress, reinforcing the vision of a prosperous and self-reliant state.

Key Allocations and Initiatives

Industries & MSMEs

  • ₹8,958 crore allocated for industries and mining.
  • ₹3,600 crore for MSME growth and startup support.
  • ₹2,000 crore under Gujarat Textile Policy to enhance global competitiveness.
  • ₹785 crore for deep-sea projects in Ankleshwar, Sarigam, Vapi, and Surat.
  • ₹515 crore for the Bulk Drug Park in Bharuch.

Urban Development & Infrastructure

  • ₹30,325 crore for urban growth, a 40% increase from the previous year.
  • New municipal corporations planned; existing 69 municipalities to be upgraded.
  • ₹200 crore for Chief Minister Green Ring Road project.
  • ₹1,020 crore for Gujarat High-Speed Corridor.

Health & Social Welfare

  • ₹1,100 crore for tribal development under the New Gujarat Pension Scheme.
  • ₹617 crore for the Mukhyamantri Poshak Alpaahar Yojana.
  • ₹973 crore for supplementary nutrition in Anganwadis.
  • ₹170 crore for disability welfare under the Gyan Shakti scheme.

Education & Skill Development

  • ₹1,250 crore for Gyanshakti School Scheme, supporting students from Class 9-12.
  • ₹250 crore for Gyanshakti Merit Scholarship for science students.
  • AI-based labs to be set up in multiple institutions to boost technological education.

Renewable Energy & Environment

  • ₹500 crore for green hydrogen and solar power initiatives.
  • Expansion of eco-tourism projects with ₹50 crore investment in Surat Economic Region.
