The India Energy Storage Alliance (IESA) has forecasted an investment of $500 million into the Indian battery and mobility startup ecosystem over the next year. This significant funding aims to drive groundbreaking innovations, advancements in manufacturing, and bolster India’s position in sustainable energy and mobility technologies.

Debi Prasad Dash, President of IESA, remarked, “This investment will enable startups to drive groundbreaking innovations in battery technology and electric vehicle infrastructure. It will also support India’s commitment to leading the charge in sustainable mobility and energy storage solutions.”

Investment to Propel Innovation:
The $500 million investment is expected to catalyze new research, development, and product innovations in the battery and mobility sectors. It will benefit firms specializing in Battery Management Systems (BMS), safety management, and component manufacturing.

Bharat Battery Show & Start-Up Connect Program:
The announcement was made during the Bharat Battery Show, a centerpiece of the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025. A key event, the Start-Up Connect program, organized by IESA in collaboration with Hero MotoCorp, showcased India’s readiness to support innovation through industry and government partnerships.

IESA’s Active Role:
IESA, established in 2012 by Customized Energy Solutions, has been promoting the ecosystem through collaborations with over 400 startups and global organizations like UNIDO, iCreate, and India Accelerator. It provides investment support, mentorship, technology validation, and global partnerships to foster sustainable innovation.

High Engagement at the Expo:
The Bharat Battery Show witnessed remarkable attendance, with over 30,000 visitors exploring the latest developments in battery storage, recycling, and e-mobility technologies over three days.

India as a Global Hub:
IESA envisions making India a global leader in R&D, manufacturing, and adoption of advanced energy storage, green hydrogen, and e-mobility technologies, aligning with national and global sustainability goals.

This massive investment is expected to redefine India’s battery and mobility sector, marking a new chapter in sustainable innovation and energy solutions.
